Project Homeless Leader: Ed Calton
| |
Project Homeless works to help the homeless in Hendricks and Marion Counties. Volunteers collect food, coats, hats, gloves, scarves, and blankets and deliver them directly to the folks in need – in the streets. On Thursday and Sunday nights, teams go into the city where the homeless live to distribute clothing, sack lunches, hot lunches, drinks, kindness and respect. |
| |
Ed Calton, founder of Project Homeless, found that formal agencies could not offer help to many of those who live outside of polite society because the homeless often lack the official documentation necessary to participate in even a once a month food pantry. Some lack the capacity to understand what is required of them. Some have just given up the will to live. Project Homeless centers on providing real goods to these needy people. No questions asked, no names, no sermons, and no requirements. |
