Let’s Plan Your Visit!

The best service to attend as a first-time guest is the main Sunday Eucharist at 10:00 am. You can expect the service to last about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

  • Dress is casual. Feel free to come as you are. Folks will be wearing everything from jeans to suits. Hint: We are sometimes more dressy on the big services of Easter, Pentecost and Christmas but only marginally so.

  • Arrive about 9:50 am. That will give you a few minutes to get your bearings and hang up your coat before the service starts.

Please see the directions available on the New Here page.

Monthly Worship Schedule

  • The first Sunday of the month is a contemporary worship format with contemporary and updated music and language.

  • The Third Sunday of every month we offer a Healing Service shortly after the regular service. Anyone is welcome who wants to pray together with the priest and others for healing for themselves, for others, or for the brokenness in the world.

About our service

  • Our worship is liturgical, which means our service is planned with intentional rhythms of prayer, song, silence, and spoken words shared between the priest and the people, all as an offering to God. We all participate together and share in God’s presence in our midst.

  • The worship bulletin you receive from the usher will guide you through the service, even if you’ve never been to a church like Saint Mark’s. The worship bulletin follows the Book of Common Prayer, the red book in the pew back that guides how we plan our service throughout the church year. Our worship blends old and new. We are rooted in ancient, sacred traditions, but we also seek to bring a fresh perspective to these traditions. We read the Bible, sing old and new hymns, hear a sermon, and pray together. We share in Holy Communion every week. Everyone, including kids, is warmly welcome to come to God’s table to share in the gifts of bread and wine, regardless of religious background.

  • You will find two hymnals in the pews the blue Hymnal 1982 and the green Wonder Love and Praise. We use both hymnals for a variety of contemporary hymns as well as traditional hymns. The music for the day is listed in the worship bulletin.

  • The rule of thumb is that we stand to sing, sit to listen, and stand or kneel to pray. As our guest, feel free to join in as much or as little as you wish.
